The FARMS Early Reader Books were developed through a partnership between the Arizona Farm Bureau and the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension to foster a love of reading and agriculture at an early age. The Arizona Foundation for Agricultural Literacy (AFAL) provides programs that develop an agriculturally literate society that understands and can communicate the source and value of agriculture as it affects our quality of life in Arizona.
Agricultural literacy is promoting the understanding and knowledge necessary to synthesize, analyze and communicate basic information about agriculture with students, producers, consumers and the public.
The Arizona Ag Institute 1.0 is a three-day, traveling tour designed to teach K-12 teachers about food and fiber production and help them incorporate that knowledge in the classroom curriculum. AAI combines hands-on learning about agriculture with practical curriculum development. Graduates of AAI 1.0 are then eligible to participate in AAI 2.0 which provides a similar experience but focusing on agriculture across the state.
100% of your donation will go to fund programs and projects that promote agricultural literacy in Arizona.
